Silk Screen Printing

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.

Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silkscreen, seriography, and serigraph.

Advantage of silk screen printing is fast & long lasting, most importantly.. Cheap & good.

Unlike Heat Transfer / Dye cut.. Silk Screen print will last & not peel off from the garment.

Best used on big prints *esp class t/shirts

understanding Silk Screen Printing

Silk Screen Printing is also known as screen printing, is a method of printing using a polyester mesh made into a stencil by applying paint using a squeegee across the mesh. Traditionally silk was used as the material for the mesh which resulted in the name silk screening printing.

It is the least expensive and most common T-Shirt printing method for mass production. Using multiple stencils, unlimited colors can be printed producing clear and bright finishes.

98 Designs Embroidery Services, offer a wide spectrum of colors with specific pantone (up to 90% closeness). Due to the need of preparing stencils for multiple colors, prices are thus very dependent on the number of colours.

As a rule of thumb, the more color there are, the more expensive it will cost.
